Product Description

Custom Galvanized Steel Tile Rack Welded Frame

JG manufactures the Custom Galvanized Steel Tile Rack Welded Frame from precision-cut square tubing using dedicated welding fixtures and controlled post-weld finishing. The long rectangular frame consists of four parallel 82-inch tubes joined by two 9-inch end tubes. The completed welded assembly measures approximately 2159 × 228.6 mm and provides a strong, open structure for tile storage, display, material handling and custom industrial rack systems.

A galvanized steel tile rack of this length is not a simple welding job. The 2082.8 mm longitudinal members must remain straight and parallel while the two end tubes hold the specified width and squareness. JG controls tube cutting, fixture location, welding sequence, heat input and cooling to minimize bowing, twisting and spacing variation across the full 2159 mm frame.

Square Tube Construction

The rack uses 38.1 × 38.1 mm galvanized steel square tube. The four long members have a specified wall thickness of approximately 0.84 ± 0.152 mm, while the 228.6 mm end members use a thicker wall of approximately 1.22 ± 0.152 mm. This combination provides a lightweight structure with reinforced end connections. Material dimensions are checked before fabrication because tube size, wall thickness and straightness directly affect the finished welded square tube frame.

Manufacturing Challenges and JG Solutions

  • Long-frame straightness: Dedicated fixtures support the 2.1-meter tubes and control bowing during welding and cooling.
  • Parallel tube spacing: Fixed locating points keep all four longitudinal members evenly positioned from end to end.
  • Thin-wall welding: Controlled current, weld length and sequence reduce burn-through, excessive penetration and heat distortion.
  • End squareness: The 228.6 mm cross members are located from common datums to maintain overall width and rectangular geometry.
  • Clean weld appearance: Spatter, sharp projections and burrs are removed without damaging the galvanized tube surface.
  • Corrosion protection: Weld areas receive cold galvanizing after fabrication to restore protection where the original zinc layer is affected.

Controlled Welding Sequence

JG assembles the galvanized steel tile rack in a purpose-built welding fixture. The long tubes are first positioned against stable datums, and the end tubes are clamped without forcing the frame out of shape. Tack welds are applied in a balanced sequence before final welding. Alternating the weld locations helps distribute heat and limits accumulated distortion along the long frame.

The thin-wall long members require careful process control. Excessive heat can cause local collapse, burn-through or visible deformation, while insufficient heat can produce weak joints. JG selects the welding parameters according to the actual tube wall thickness and verifies joint consistency during production. The completed welded tile rack is allowed to cool in a controlled condition before final dimensional inspection.

Cold Galvanizing After Welding

Welding locally removes or damages the zinc coating around each joint. After cleaning and deburring, the exposed weld zones are treated with cold galvanizing material. The coating provides a zinc-rich protective layer and improves corrosion resistance around the fabricated joints. JG checks the cold galvanized welded rack for complete coverage, clean edges and a consistent industrial appearance.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Incoming galvanized square tube inspection
  2. Precision cutting of 82-inch and 9-inch members
  3. End preparation and burr removal
  4. Fixture loading and datum alignment
  5. Balanced tack welding
  6. Controlled final welding
  7. Cooling and fixture release
  8. Weld cleaning and complete deburring
  9. Cold galvanizing at weld areas
  10. Dimensional and visual inspection
  11. Protective export packaging

Quality Control

Critical dimensions are checked through first-article and periodic inspection. JG verifies the approximately 2159 mm overall length, 228.6 mm overall width, tube section, wall thickness, parallel spacing and frame squareness. Straightedges, calibrated gauges and purpose-built inspection fixtures are used according to the drawing requirements. The finished galvanized steel tile rack is also inspected for weld continuity, excessive spatter, sharp edges, surface damage and complete cold-galvanized coverage.

Inspection frequency can be adjusted to the customer's control plan. Material records, dimensional inspection reports, welding samples and packaging requirements are available for qualified OEM projects. Consistent inspection helps every galvanized steel tile rack fit the customer's larger storage, display or handling assembly.
